GERMANTOWN FRIENDS SCHOOL presents the twenty-ninth
Annual Germantown Friends School Juried Craft Show, March 1 –
3, 2013. Work in the categories of ceramics, fiber decorative and
wearable, glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media and wood will
be available, as well as a local emerging artist section. Proceeds
from the Craft Show benefit the GFS Community Scholars
Program, established in 1965, and the General Scholarship Fund.

TEXAS
THE SURFACE DESIGN ASSOCIATION announces its
seventeenth International Surface Design Association Conference,
titled Interface, from June 6 – 9, 2013. Workshops will be held
pre- and post-conference: June 1 – 5 and June 10 – 14. The
Southwest School of Art is the site host for pre-conference
workshops and conference demonstrations, as well as sponsoring
Michael James's lecture at the McMahon Fiber Art Symposium.
Among other events, the conference will host Fabricate, a
juried runway fashion show featuring artist-made clothing by
SDA members.

WASHINGTON
THE YOUNG WOMEN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION in
Tacoma, Washington, issues a call for entries for its RAGS wearable
art show. The show takes place March 7 – 10, 2013, at Larson
Mercedes-Benz of Tacoma. Open to all artists working in all media
of wearable art: garments, fashion accessories and jewelry.

THE SMITHSONIAN CRAFT SHOW presents its thirty-first
annual show, April 24 – 28, 2013. One hundred twenty artists will
exhibit their wares in ceramics, decorative fiber, furniture, glass,
jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media, paper, wearable art, and
wood. Taking place as always at the beautiful National Building
Museum, the Smithsonian Craft Show presents a wonderful craft
selection for collectors.

CANADA
THE SOCIETY OF NORTH AMERICAN GOLDSMITHS holds its
annual conference, entitled Meta-Mosaic, in Toronto, Canada, May
13 – 18, 2013. Toronto is a mosaic of peoples and cultures as well as
the center of Canada's jewelry industry, and the conference will
examine the mosaic of creative identities making up art, craft and
design within the diverse metalsmithing communities.
GUATEMALA
ART WORKSHOPS IN GUATEMALA offers a Mayan Culture
Calendar and Textile Tour in March 2013. Another tour examining
Backstrap Weaving and Mayan Culture, run by Lidia Tarton de
Santos, will take place from July 21 – 30, 2013.
